From notes. Had on tap at Burnish.
Very nice take on Belgian Dubbel.
The addition of dark cherries gives a nicely rounded highlight to the otherwise classic monastic style brew.
Gorgeous clear burnt orange/cherry mahogany. Not much in way of head, but understandably full poured in glass without attempt to maximize head appearance.
Esthers of dark dried fruit, leather, and some slight Belgian yeast came out as beer warmed. Nice biscuit in base as well. All melded well with cherries. Delicious if not quite as rich and bold as a Dubbel might present.
ABV really not noticeable. Body was a bit thin and carbonation a bit bright.
Overall a very enjoyable and interesting brew. Would definitely have again, and will be curious to see future versions!
