Silky, dark chocolate flavors blend with vanilla, carmelized sugar, dark berries, rum, and oak aromas.

500 ml bottle into pint glass. Pours an opaque black with no head. Initial impression is dark chocolate, molasses, rum, oak, and dark fruits. Mouthfeel is thick, with essentially zero carbonation. Finish fades to sweet chpcolate. Interesting, but too sweet for my tastes.

Had on tap at BBC. Nice Imp Stout. Rich dark brown with hints of cherry. No head. No lacing.
Flavors and nose came across as advertised. Plenty of dark chocolate with nice touches of vanilla and oak. Carmelized sugar and dark fruit marry with rum providing some sweet notes. A bit thin for me but still smooth and hides abv well.
Rum barrel is not my favorite, but have tried to rate this based on brewers intention. In that I think they definitely hit the target.
As I finish snifter… I’m thinking this brew really needs a big cigar to accompany. Not cuz it’s rum… rather…having had dozens of big beers along a cigar…this beer probably would be elevated/find its niche along a good cigar.
Overall a very nice Imp Stout.
