Will start by acknowledging that EjijahCraig is my favorite bourbon. So…expect I’m biased when married to cocktails…and barrel aged beers.
Fortunate to have had this beer during canning run. This brew hit all the points of a model American Imp Stout. Great look, fragrant, complex well rounded flavors, and nicely medium full silky mouth feel. A great stout in and of its own merits.
But aging in a double digit old ElijahCraig barrel just raised it up to a world class BBAIS for me.
I always felt the 2011 Eclipse 12y EC BBAIS was my favorite Eclipse version by Fifty-Fifty…and one of the best Imp Stouts I’ve had.
This was right there!
Update: Have had a few cans now and still enjoying.
