Golden Hefe with subtle sweetness and a light rye spiciness.

Had on tap at BBC. Had recommendation that I might enjoy the Rye…and they were right!
The pour was somewhat disappointing for lack of the full plump head…no lacing etc. But the beer itself was a gorgeous slightly rusty gold that just lit up as it reflected light. Obviously filtered and clear unlike many traditional Hefes… but it was more like the best German “crystal” hefes.
Had a full nose full of banana, wheat and spice. Favor was excellent with robust Hefe flavors seriously brightened by the Rye. Loved it. Body was light and crispy. Nothing bogging it down.
Overall it reminded me of the best German Crystal Hefeweizens but nicely enhanced with a touch of Roggenbier.
