Poured from a bottle (27Apr2020) into a Belgian glass
L: darker orange gold, with a very dense vibrant white head. Neck of the bottle was full of sediment, some particles of which I saw floating down with the pour. Imagine the beer is clearer w/o that, not going to knock it. Head has shrunk somewhat after a couple minutes. Great thick white lacing
S: nice amount of light musty funk up front here, along with a good amount of barrel and oak. Get honey, hay, slightly grassy, white wine aroma as well. Nice nose overall, there’s complexity to it but find it fades somewhat quickly
T: solid oak aged farmhouse flavors leading. Somewhat grassy and herbal but mostly getting dough and freshly baked bread. White wine and green apple as well, returning to a doughy/hay note for the medium finish. Slightly drying. Dough and crisp, almost bitter green apple character increasing as it’s warmed, like that. Oak adds nice structure
F: medium/high carbonation, some bubbles dancing on my tongue, medium/light body, easy to drink but doesn’t scream refreshing a bit full for that
O: another great beer from Weaver Hollow. Delicious and refreshing, solid oak character but the ales themselves shine
