Poured from a bottle (03Apr2020) into a Belgian glass
L: pours a coppery orange yellow with a very dense white head. Aggressive visible carbonation, crackling sound as well. Slight lacing with each sip, carbonation and mild head still there after ~15 minutes in glass
S: quite full farmhouse nose, lots of citrus with great oak character. Get light lemon zest/flesh, some Granny Smith apple, a bit of restrained barnyard tart/funk. A grassy/vegetal note comes through more as it’s warmed, but second to those tart fruit notes. Deep and well rounded aroma overall
T: follows the nose well, beautiful full and well balanced flavor. Get a rather light lemon flavor, more restrained than I expected from the nose in a good way. A bit of that Granny Smith tart as well, especially as I exhale. Honey note coming through, toward the finish and a bit more pronounced once it’s warmed somewhat. Get a bit more of an oak/white wine character as well, again lemon some peach. Really nice long finish, slightly tart lingers amazingly
F: medium- body, high carbonation, lightly drying some bright acidity shining through as it’s warmed
O: excellent farmhouse, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Nose is superb, but the flavor is where I’m really impressed. Well balanced and full, with waves of distinct flavor and an incredibly long enjoyable finish
