Poured from a bottle (04Aug2019) into a small stemmed glass
L: pours a beautifully clear ruby red with a tight, bright white head. Moderate consistent visible carbonation
S: slightly tart, rich raspberry nose with a slight bit of funk. Think I get a bit of that vanilla but may be forcing it. Nicely balanced acidity - promising aroma of a nicely fruited saison
T: really lovely candy raspberry, almost jolly rancher-esque? But truly in a good way, and not saccharine! Second pour has more tart fruit character. Feel the vanilla does a nice job providing a slight sweet note, rounds out the swallow but doesn’t come across as a significant flavor on its own. Medium finish, get a bit more of the vanilla toward the end
F: medium- body, medium+ carbonation. Moderately drying, again find that acidity nicely balanced
O: a delicious oak aged fruited saison, another one of the impressive Weaver Hollow brews. Wonder if the vanilla would have come through more fresh - regardless, outstanding
