On-tap @ Jersey Cyclone Brewing Co. in Somerset, NJ.
Dark brown in color with a small off-white head. This beer is billed as a smoked sweet potato ale, but I didn't pick up much smoke at all in either the other or flavor. Lightly roasted malts and light caramel malt sweetness. Earthy hops. Would be hard to pinpoint the use of root vegetables in this if I didn't have prior knowledge. It has a medium-full body and finishes with a light sweetness to it. Falls somewhere between an American brown ale and porter to me, probably closer to brown ale. A tasty beer but not something I would want a second serving of.
