A European skunk beer that doesn't go full skunk, which makes it great.

Baca (Polish) Full Pale 1/2 liter bottle (7%) purchased for 2.70 including tax and deposit at Wisla Deli in Riverhead. Cooled to about 45 F and poured into a glass. No date, but seems fresh. Medium pale beer color with a firm dense head that recedes slowly. Aroma is pleasant, if simple. Flavor is balanced mild malt and hop bitterness. Slight alcohol edge that isn't unpleasant. Ratings are relatively high since I'm comparing to other strong beers. It' definitely a drinkable brew.

Pours into a Becker a clear rich golden with a fluffy/sticky white crown.Sweet aromas with a good amount of corn, lightly metallic as well.Flavors are on the sweeter side and lightly toasted, some alcohol in the back end.Its ok,drink it very cold Wich Iam normally staunchly against.Again it's a bit sweet and rough around the edges, bit it's not bad for a big Eurotrash lager

330 ml bottle purchased from American Market on State Street Oregon. Used to be Capital Market.
$2.75
Like the folksy label of what looks like Putin dressed as a peasant!
Pours a nice darker clear golden colour. Lovely big frothy off white head. Excellent lace.
Typical European lager aromas. Nice honeyish malts, some grassy hops. Simples, but good.
Taste is semi sweet , and a wee bit of bitterness. Again simple yet good.
Mouth feel seems average for style and thicker than its American cousins. NO alcohol noticed.
A nice strong lager.

Look: Burnt orange, clear, with a decent 2-finger head receding quickly leaving light lacing
Aroma: Bready, honey, light floral notes and maybe some pilsner malt (?). Good overall and no heat on the nose
Taste: Taste follows nose but deeper and with slight corn notes. Slightly sweet and bready on the finish – clean and again, no alcohol heat
Mouthfeel: Light, crisp, and clean
Overall: Pleasantly surprised by this one. Went in not expecting a whole lot and it’s good. Hard to detect the 7% ABV at all (so far, while cold)

I'm trying to like this brew as much as the first reviewer; but I can't.
There seems to be not much distinguishing it from other Euro Pales: it Looks a pretty golden; it Smells mostly of malt; it Tastes balanced with just enough hops. And it Feels bubbly enough to wash down my equally undistinguished lunch.
Then I read the label and see it is 7%. I check the BA style and it is a Euro Strong. So, I have to give them credit for fooling me since the alcohol is well-concealed. But it also is an early lunch and not a good idea to start today's PM with a nap. Then I notice that the drawing of the mountaineer on the label looks a lot like Putin; you know, the ruler-for-life of Russia. Suddenly, I have another reason to stop consuming the alcohol.
I did go on Jako's website. And while it is sophisticated in its use of photos and graphics, it also is simple. There also is no English button. So all I can gather is that Jako has 8 brews; 1 dark, probably 2 amber and the balance pale lagers. The brewery (no restaurant) is in a small farm community about midway between the German border and Warsaw. While it doesn't seem like the craft movement has made it to that small town, at least they have the next best thing.

Paired with Goralska sausage and smoked cheese from Syzmanski Deli. Label claims the beer is Góralski style, from the mountainous southern region of Poland where the Goral highlanders originate.
Bright brassy gold, two fingers of foam, lasting retention, spotty lace. Grassy, fruity, lightly sweet aroma. Ample body, feels more like a decent malt liquor. Taste has a touch of papery oxidation, but the baked apple fruitiness of the yeast dominates, and a light sweetness lingers. A bit more body and character than many Polish EPL’s, almost like a Maibock. Makes a nice pairing with the charcuterie.

Pours clear, gold in color with 1/3 inch head. Taste is dark bread, cereal, and toasted malt. Medium heavy bodied, moderate carbonation, sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Makes for a nice winter sipper. Would get this again. Has some sweetness I associate with malt liquor.
