I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in a straight-sided glass.
Appearance: super dark brown with a finger of tan foam atop leaving a nice lace on the glass as I drink.
Smell: sweetish malt with a nicely nutty, slightly chocolatey, and a bit astringent aroma. Not too bad - kind of a "brown ale" style lager.
Taste: nutty, caramelly malt flavor with a rather astringent finish. The flavor's not bad, but the astringency cuts a bit too much into the smoothness of the flavor for me.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: not bad, but a bit too astringent to be super drinkable.
