473 mL can from the LCBO; coded L010470431 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a deep golden-yellow colour, its body lightly fogged and topped with one finger of loose, soapy white head that lasts for less than three minutes. A tight collar and some patchy remnants on the surface are all that remain; no lace at first, but there's some spotty deposition as the level drops. The aroma is moderately hoppy for a blonde ale, offering up hints of citrus, stone fruit and some lightly piney, earthy qualities; this is backed by bready pale malts and a touch of honey sweetness.

It's a tasty little blonde ale, with well-balanced flavours and high drinkability. The malt backbone is mostly bready, with hints of grain and light honey sweetness; there are also suggestions of citrus interspersed within. Finishes with the addition of earthy, weakly floral hop bitterness that helps to counteract the lingering malt bread/graininess; slightly fruity aftertaste that fades quick. Light in body, with average carbonation that adds a crisp bite to this ale's smooth, satisfying mouthfeel. One glass is easy to finish, and I think I could have a few of these in a row.

Final Grade: 3.81, a solid B+. No. 99 Blonde Ale is comfortably above average for an American blonde IMO, and almost definitely one of the better beers that this brewery has produced thus far. I think both craft beer geeks and macro drinkers could enjoy this brew equally. Heck, it kind of reminds me of a significantly improved Labatt 50, a beer I've always had a soft spot for. Labatt 50 x 1.98 sounds about right, mathematically speaking. Dumb jokes aside, give 'er a shot.

Pours a beautiful gold colour, darker than most blonde ales, perhaps dirty blonde. Nice white head with visible bubbles. Corny and grainy on the nose. Slight sweetness on the taste along with some hoppy bitterness and a bready undertone, a bit of metallic noted as well. Crisp and bubbly mouthfeel
