I had this beer on cask in a pint glass at the brewery. They call this a "white stout".
Appearance: pale golden hue with a bit of haze and a thin head of frothy ivory foam. I mean, it looks like a beer.
Smell: sweet malt with notes of chocolate and vanilla. A little simplistic, but overall not bad.
Taste: it’s got the chocolate and vanilla of a real stout but without the characteristic bitter roastiness. I get that this might be a selling pint for some, but for me it feels like a missing link.
Mouthfeel: medium body with an OK carbonation and a decent enough creaminess. Not quite as rich as the other cask beer I had here at Dancing Man, though still pretty smooth.
Overall: this is an interesting beer, but like a lot of other white stouts I don’t find it particularly convincing.
