Batch 2. Released 4/21/22; drank 5/7/22 @ Pokemon Communion.

Mostly opaque orange/yellow appearance.

An even pour yielded a nice, bright white head; frothy lace.

Bold peach, dry yeast & white grape notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

The flavor followed the nose; a farmhouse stunner. Wish I had a case.

Pours a very nice slight hazy golden color with a slight head and lacing
Aroma has generous tart lemongrass and honey hints
The taste follows the nose with a very well balanced and very pleasant tart lemongrass and honey flavor
A light bodied very well carbonated crisp beer
A great Saison

Ok, wow! Just a random pour I chose from the brewery’s list. It’s an amazingly clean, subtly tasty beer that I kept saying to my girlfriend, “I quite like this beer.”

Almost yellow version of gold, it really takes on the dominant color behind it, it’s that clear. Really, the “color” is a slightly jaundiced version of the scene behind It. Given open fermentation, the head is decent.

Nose has a mix of honey, hay/grass, dry attic, and an ever so slight hints of a chemical note. The honey comes through in the taste up front with a light grain bread. Dry grass with a hint of mint or some similar herb transitions me into the nicely subtle tart-side-of-tang that I assume is from some barely rogue wild influence.

Light, clean, dry, and balanced to a near perfect degree. Carbonation is a little light, but that might be my strongest complaint (even beyond that chemical note above that was so light it managed to work itself into a non-factor).

A beer I enjoy to a surprising enough degree, I’ve got to figure if I even want to try something else from them next.

Edit: I liked it so much we got a bottle to share. The bottle differed in the following ways:

… less clear, with definite cloudiness the lower we got in the bottle, bottle fermentation I’m pretty sure

… perhaps related to above, it was a tad more fruity (with tangerine and a hint of pineapple) vs tart/tangy (more indescript)

This is an outstanding and world class level rustic saison with hints of Brett and funk introduced. It blends nicely and has a super-clean finish. Perfect beer for relaxing outside in the sun.
