Pickup beer from Alaska. Interesting and unique beer.
Pours a caramel like light brown/dark amber kind of hue. Light tan head 1/3". The aroma was bakery. Cinnamon and a bunch of spice rack: card-a-mom (then she'll brag about it for 2 days), clove and nutmeg. They say there is butter or some shit going on too, but I'm not even sure what butter smells like unless you melt it. Says there is anise here, but I'm happy to not be smelling it.
Taste, its impressive in that its a full fledged spice rack "and" pastry beer. Is it my cup of tea? No. But I can at least respect this beer is probably what it aimed to be. Anise comes in a little, but its not overpowering or hate territory. Same with the butter aspect, I get a light creamy aspect in the mouth feel, but not "tasting" butter. Lactose seems minimal, there is still a light bitter hit to a beer with virtually zero hops in it though.
Given the high amounts of spice rack, this is another beer I would prefer to have no more than 6 oz of, after that it gets tedious.
