Bottle picked up in Maine a few weeks ago, no date
Pours a light fizzy head with lower retention, a touch of lacing, hazy mahogany brown color
Nose brings sweet aromas of candi sugar, brown sugar, toffee, perfumey alcohol and phenols, a bit of candied dark fruits like candied plum and fig or date, a bit of chocolate caramel candies, spicy phenols and maybe spicy rye
Taste brings more of everything, sweet flavors up front, caramel toffee, candi sugar, a bit of milk chocolate caramel candies again, spicy rye and general spicy phenols, with a bit of perfumey alcohol again, a bit of grain and sugar cookie into a little malted milk ball, more of the candied fruits with plum and date or fig candy bar, finishes sticky and semi sweet, a bit more alcohol warmth, quite spicy lingering
Mouth is med to fuller bod, higher effervescent carb, quite a bit of warming alcohol
Overall an interesting beer, lots of different characters that want to meld together but don't seem to, a bit too much going on and the alcohol seems a bit high even for 8.3% which might be what is throwing the rest of the beer off as well, but it's not bad

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
