been awhile since i have had anything beers from warfield, i need to get back up to sun valley and pay them a visit. this is solid lager, slightly more hoppy than the standard yellow beer, this is clean and easy drinking, not bitter, citrus forward, fresh tasting to me and with an almost neutral fermentation profile, pretty well done overall, basic as it is. blonde and clear, bubbly and holding an average white head. this smells pils-esque on the grain side, european, mineral forward, and ever so slightly sweet to me, with a lemon and orange hop thing, and little else, wet stone, light bread yeast. the flavor follows, pils malt leading the way but drier to drink than it smells, and the hops start kind of early, slightly floral now too, they really make this for me, it would be generic without this element. the lagering is good, this is crisp and clean, dried right out, and as such quite fast finishing and refreshing. nice to have a beer so light and easy but also not have it be dull and unexciting, the hops add just enough interest to keep me on this. good to have a new one from warfield, probably should be a full time addition to their lineup...
