January 14 2025, can received as a gift.
Look: Very nice golden copper with a small head that dissipates quickly.
Smell: Bread, caramel, maybe some tangy marmalade.
Taste: Tangy, bready, not too sweet marmalade. It's malty with some tang. Someone else mentioned sourdough, and I get that, combined with maltiness. The taste doesn't linger very long. The sourdough flavor is a touch too much. It's not very complex.
Feel: It's appropriate for the style. Lighter medium body, carbonation.
Overall: It's an ok to good marzen, but nothing great. It's somewhat tangy and malty, but not very complex and on the lighter side. It's fine for drinking in the Fall, but nothing very memorable. It's certainly easy to drink.

A fair beer save for an odd sourdough note in the nose that thankfully is avoided in the grain malt notes in the flavor. Wonderfully clear with a fair head, hints of tea pairing with the toasted malt vibe and a light, pleasant aftertaste.

Picked this up at the local growler station. Pours a nice clear copper color. This is not going to make a world class Oktoberfest list but it's not bad. Solid effort from the local brew.
