On tap at brewery:
Pours a clear light brown with a tight foam head, sheet lacing. Par is slightly metallic (which I get in some British-style beers) with a nice malt toastiness. Taste has a very mild sweetness before the malt toast and earthy bitterness comes through. A bit of an iced tea vibe late, with a sprinkle of light brown sugar, just enough to keep the bitter notes in check.

This is a style I'm a big fan of. Unfortunately, it's not one you see produced often in the US and there are only a handful of good bottle aged UK brands available here. Obviously the best choice would be to go the UK...but since that is not in the plans at the moment I was very excited to try this locally produced bitter right from the tap the way its meant to be. This has the look, gold and copper in the glass. Smell is faint of biscuits and toffee which is as advertised. Taste is a bit of biscuit and toffee with bitter finish. It's probably a bit too carbonated for a bitter but not overly so. Certainly it can't match my favorite Coniston Bluebird but it's good and very drinkable. I had two and would have another anytime. It's great to see small brewers across the US putting other styles out there.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
