Pours near black with a lightly tanned head that holds decently. Nose has a chocolate edge to it that seems aided by the barrel aging, specifically the vanilla aspects thereof. A bit more wooden and spicy aromas come with warmth.
Taste seems to grab into the spice notes in the form of a licorice edge to a cola-eating light roasted stout. Warmth brings these all together better than they present cold. A bit light feeling for almost 12%, but in a fairly refreshing way.
