16oz can poured into a tonic pint
A- pours a slightly hazy pale straw color with a two-finger pillowy and fluffy head that has great retention
S- cracker malt, straw, toasted bread crust, grape skin, earthy yeast, a hint of floral and spicy hops
T- slightly sweet and malty up front with a nice note of white grape skin. Mid-palate gives some cracker malt and a hint of earthy straw. The finish gives light grassy and floral hops, with an earthy yeast and more grape skin on the linger
M- light-medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a crisp finish, high drinkability
O- fantastic for the style, it checks all of the boxes

Picked this up recently at Studio B in Fayetteville, as this was the first beer that I ever had from Freefolk. Can't ever say that I've seen an anniversary brew that was not an IPA or something heavy but this was worthy enough to carry that mantle as it was a great take on the style that was full-flavored and easy to enjoy!
It goes without saying that this had a bright, gold hue to it that was plenty bright and topped off with a thick head of even foam. That slowly settled as the lacing left behind was concentrated along the top half of my pint glass. Lots of grape, Noble Hops, straw, and light woods on the palate as they were much less noticeable in the aroma. Some vine, outdoor funk, and grass emerged on the palate once this warmed up as there was just a bit of dark sediment at the bottom of the liquid.
This was a textbook example of the style that had a good body, a bit of bread to the body, and left a nice slickness on my palate. That was fitting given the moderate carbonation as I *almost* needed a chaser of water to fully get this down. No date was to be found anywhere on the can with a label this fitting for a brew this enjoyable, who's to notice? Get your hands on this as this Briergarten Birthday Brew was well worth kicking back with!
