Pours red/copper with a thick white head. Aroma is malty, straw and caramel. Taste follows with a lovely combination of malt, caramel and some straw/hay notes. Feel is excellent, smooth and creamy with a clean finish. Overall, this is something you can drink a bunch of.

Yeah, I love Source and when I read about the use of heirloom corn in this, I had to give this a go. Sure enough, it was true to form, wonderful to look at, and dead-on stylistically as it was a pleasure to find a beer like this outside of traditional bock season!

I absolutely loved the look of this beer as it's clear, chestnut hue was topped off by a thick, long-lasting head of bread that seemingly took forever to settle down. Loads of rings were left in the thick lacing as the foam never truly went away. Tons of bread, dark fruit, and Munich Malt in the mild nose as the taste was much more sensual and flavorful as the caramel and raisin kicked in with some woodsy and herbal notes underneath that. Incredibly clean, full-bodied, and sticky on my lips, this was subtly complex with the toasty nature and use of the corn making this stand out above a typical Bock.

Once again, I couldn't detect the alcohol in this as that seems to be the case with nearly everything that I've had from Source. Nicely hopped, this was on par with their offerings as they nailed this style effortlessly. Dated 11/30 with "COLTS NECK TERROIR" written underneath it, I'm glad that I still have the rest of the cans that I bought there as this was another fun beer from them. Grab it if you can!

Right off the bat, an amazing look from this bock. Thick creamy tan head over medium brown liquid that also has a creamy feel. Much fuller bodied than expected. The malt-forward flavor was deep and delicious--brown bread, toffee, figs. And more like a doppelbock with it's amped-up 7% ABV, thanks in large part due to the use of locally-grown heirloom corn in the brewing. Substantial, delightful!

A: dark ruby red, mahogany, and cherry color with an1/2 finger tan head

S: dark malts, sweet berries, toffee, caramel, raisins, fig, and oak

T: sweet berries, toffee, caramel malts, dark berries, and a big doughy malt presence. A touch of cardboard, grass, leather, and some lager spice

M: fuller side of medium mouthfeel with high carbonation

O: an alright Bock. Nose is a bit nicer than the taste, but it’s not bad. Mouthfeel is spot on, and it’s nice and malt forward
