Blond Abbey strikes a harmonious balance between malt, yeast, and hops. Together they contribute a wonderful, fresh, floral, fruity, herbal bouquet.
This Belgian golden ale is light-medium bodied and super drinkable.
It opens with hint of pleasant malt and fruity ester sweetness which is quickly followed by a dry and effervescent finish accented by fruity, spicy, Belgian yeast character and herbal, floral hops.
We get notes of chamomile, biscuit, dried dandelions, lightly toasted bread drizzled in sweet honey, Anjou pear, banana, and a complex, delicate, sweet, fruity, herbal spice mix.

Pours a golden yellow, massive pillowy head. Standard banana and bubble gum aromas, very nice. Very flavorful, 7.5% abv well hidden. FIsrly full bodied. Loads of micro carbonation, very creamy texture. Overall a delicious Blonde.

From a 16oz can, enjoyed out in The 'Zebo....
Poured a muted, hazy, flat golden color. Minimal carbo but it did have a little sediment floating about. Head was a frothy, rocky off-white, which lasted decently, with good lace. Aroma was slightly bready, with some spicy notes. Body was an acceptable medium, with minor prickle on the tongue.
Flavor had a touch of toasty malts, with light fruity action. A bit of green apple and pear mixed together, with some spicy, peppery flavors in the yeasty. dry finish. Not bad... Prosit!!

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a moderately hazy, medium golden amber with a three finger white head with great retention and solid lacing; looks nice. Aroma of lightly grainy farmhouse yeast, apple and pear juice, a touch of funk; lightly floral and spicy. Flavor is grainy, saison yeast, apple, pear, hints of tropical fruit, clove, a touch of summer herbs; fairly dry finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. An enjoyable Belgian inspired ale, but I found the profile to be closer to a Belgian pale ale than a blonde as it is mostly dry with only a touch of sweetness. The yeast is much closer to a Belgian saison. Although it is not quite what I expected for a blonde ale, it is well made and an excellent domestic take on a light Belgian ale. The name of the brewery indicates that they lean to farmhouse ales and this profile fits that orientation. I like this one and hope to see something else from them in the future.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that never completely faded away and left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of floral hops are present in the nose along with notes of Belgian yeast.
T: The taste follows the smell but has stronger flavors of Belgian yeast and associated hints of spiciness. There are also fruity notes.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked how this blonde ale wasn't dominated by aromas and flavors of Belgian yeast.
