Not near a tap? Have this in lieu of that! The holiday may have passed by but this was good for this time of year, regardless as this was so easy to enjoy and a great take on a style that I haven't had quite often!
This had a solid pour to it as the liquid was a dark nut brown, nearly clear, and topped off by a bubbly, tan head that was smooth, thick, and long-lasting. The look of this made it seem that this came out of a tap or that the can had a widget, but neither was the case as the bubbles settled into the liquid below. Lots of roasted malt, barley, cereal, and a hint of coffee in the nose as the taste was full, somewhat slick, and dry in the back. Some nuttiness in the form of chestnut and walnut and cereal emerged once this warmed up as this, like most of what I've had from Source, didn't last in my glass for very long!
Booze? It's here but you wouldn't notice it unless you had a few pints. That would be easy to do since this was so enjoyable and just needed a chaser of water to fully get it down. Canned on 3/8 with "LUCK OF THE IRISH" written below that, this had a fitting label for the holiday and a brew that was on par with that. The foam was smooth as could be and a nice finish to a brew that has me wishing that I could find it on tap around here!
