Picked this up a few weeks ago at my first run down to Source, as I only had one other beer from them before. This sounded interesting and certainly looked it as I poured it out, as I never had a Witbier before that was anything like this. Part fruit beer, part farmhouse, and part Belgian White, this was different and nearly deserved to be in a category by itself...

Of course, this poured blue but it was as much purple in hue as it was blue as it felt like it had raspberries in it, which was repeated in the tartness on the nose and the palate. A massive, frothy, pink head quickly filled up my pint glass and took forever to settle down as the lacing left behind easily covered up a majority of my pint glass. Farmhouse funk filled the nose early, with a ton of coriander as the orange peel, blueberry jam, and Belgian phenolics that were mentioned in this beer's description emerged more once this fully warmed up. Hard to pick out the wheat in here although this was a full-bodied beer with a nice amount of sweetness and carbonation to help take the edge off.

The Belgian edge made this feel much stronger than it was in actuality as this was quite the session beer when all was said and done. Slick, sticky from the berry, and funky, this was a new take on this style that took some getting used to, for sure! Dated 7/7 with "WHATCHA GONNA BLUE WIT IT?" written underneath it, this had a bit of sediment that ended up on the bottom in five equally spaced out bits but otherwise, was as lively as one could hope for. Source has something unique on their hands, which turned out to be perfect for a cool night with a gentle breeze...
