Picked this up not too long ago at the Bottle King in Morris Plains towards the tail end of last year, as I wasn't around to get it down at Source in Colts Neck. Loved the description of this beer and indeed, it did "pop" as it was quite bright, juicy, and fun to drink! In addition it held up well over the winter months as it was fitting for this early spring day.
This had a lovely pour to it with the liquid being a fairly bright gold with plenty of haze to it and head to top it off. Really lovely rings of lacing were left behind with each one being well-defined and bleeding down into the next. Lots of stone fruit with some wheat, tangerine, and dankness underneath that. Apricot, peach, and jam sweetness were in the taste as the melon really asserted itself in the aftertaste once the liquid went down. Plenty full and somewhat sticky, there a was a lot to like here as this was as smooth as it's description led me to believe!
The amount of booze was on par with everything else here as the lingering flavor of this was turbid stone and tropical fruit combined with heavy-handed hops and dank melon. Thankfully, the oats gave this enough body to keep it from feeling typical and the carbonation was spot-on, as this almost felt as much a New England IPA as an Imperial. Dated 11/18 with "CAPOW!" written underneath that, I loved the comic book-style label as indeed, this was bold, colorful, and full of pop. This was an IPA that was fun and worthy to be part of their lineup!
