This dark brown beauty will embrace your senses and warm you up with layers of delectable malt derived aromas and flavors that are met and balanced by clean hop bitterness, making for a surprisingly smooth and easy drinking experience.
.
We get notes of milk chocolate, graham crackers, smooth cold brew coffee, toasted chestnuts, gooey caramel, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

Picked this up at Source two Fridays ago, as this wasn't distributed outside of the brewery. Love my Porters and love the idea that this was brewed for the cooler autumn nights but for some reason, this was just a bit *too* pedestrian for me. No, it's not a bad beer and yes, this was nicely crafted like everything else that I've had from them but in the end, there wasn't too much about this that was particularly memorable.
Of course, this poured dark as the liquid was dark like molasses with a sufficient, tan head topping it off. A bit of light seeped in through the bottom as this had a nice consistency to it. Very little lacing was left behind as only a few dots of suds remained on my pint glass as I worked my way through this. Roasted, chocolatey, and nutty on the nose, the taste was a bit more heavy as hints of graham cracker, toffee, and outdoorsy autumn emerged once this fully warmed up. Chestnuts, walnuts, and leaves were the feeling I took away from this as it was quite dry on the palate and especially dry in the aftertaste. This was a bit odd since the underlying coffee made the consistency of this slick, although there was plenty of body to be had here!
Hard to pick up the caramel and cookies that were in this beer's description and thankfully, it was hard to pick up the booze as it was hidden quite nicely by the range of flavors present from the get-go. Couldn't read the date on the bottom of the can as I only made out "WEATHER" written below that as this beer was less than two weeks old and easily felt it down to the last drop. I say that because this felt like coffee in the aftertaste although this wasn't a Coffee Porter. Sure, this time of the year is dominated by Marzens and Octoberfest beers but as a nightcap when the temperature drops, this would be a fine choice to kick back with before Stout season kicks into gear.
