Picked this up recently at Source as this was a new release by them that introduced me to Urban Village. Very tough to categorize this beer, as it wasn't quite like anything I ever had before, but it was immensely enjoyable and on par with everything else that I've come to expect from these guys since I fell in love with them!
This poured like strawberry juice and was cloudy enough to give it a completely rustic appearance, as it was topped off by a massive pink head that seemingly took all day to settle down. Not a lot of lacing was left behind as there was a rocky ring near the middle and some suds that slid down after every sip. Some raspberry juice, tartness, and vanilla sweetness came through in the nose as the taste was full-bodied, lively, and not too sour or tangy. All of that led to a beer that was just sour and bubbly enough to have that feel with enough pilsner, wheat, and Mosaic to be filling and mildly potent at the same time.
Nicely slick and outdoorsy, this would be great for the summer although I could easily kick back with this year-round. Couldn't feel the alcohol in this as this *almost* bordered on a Radler or fermented soda, since it was that light on the tongue! Dated 11/23 with 'BRING BACK THE 15 TROLLEY" on the bottom of the can, this was a Philly beer down to the yeast used and the skyline featured on the label. Loved this beer and just like Philadelphia itself, it will probably love you back!
