Picked this up recently at The Bottle King in Wayne as this was available by itself and I've loved getting my hands on anything from Source that I've been able to find lately. Love what they're doing and this was another wonderful beer as it was equally sweet, smooth, and fruity as it almost felt like a cross between a fruit smoothie and wine - if such a thing was even possible!
Indeed, this poured like a grape smoothie as it was purple, cloudy, and topped off with a massive, thick pinkish head that offset the liquid nicely. Grape, currant, vanilla, and lactobacillus were in the nose as there was some wine funkiness, sticky lingonberry, lightly tart berry, and a hint of jam in the taste. Nicely carbonated and malted, I couldn't taste the pilsner and wheat but they were there as this was one of the more full sours that I've had in quite some time.
As was the case with nearly everything else that I've had from them, it was nearly impossible to pick out the alcohol here although in this case, that was because it was low to begin with. Lots of berry juice stuck around on my teeth along with a hint of grape skin as this was a nearly-perfect session beer. Dated 7/14 on the bottom of the can with "NO PLOT, ALL RIBES" written below that, this held up well over the last 5 months as there wasn't any sediment to be seen or skunk to be felt. With an aftertaste like champagne, this called for another can, as I may find my way back up to the store to get another can...
