Picked this up recently at Joe Canal’s in Woodbridge, as I’ve come enjoy Source’s recent offerings. Never had a Pils of this style before although it sounds quite similar to it’s German counterpart, and this was just as enjoyable as the best of those!
For sure, this poured like a Pils as it was clear, golden, and topped off with a full and thick foamy head that evenly settled and took it's time dissipating. Lovely streams of fine bubbles rose up through the liquid as this was nicely carbonated as well as full-bodied. Not a lot of lacing was left behind aside from a few hints of thick, rings near the middle of my glass. Lots of champagne and hops in the nose as the taste was thick like honey with a nice floral and spicy undertone. Somewhat funky and crisp, there were hints of cracker and cereal that gave this plenty of bite as this would have been perfect for spring!
There was hardly any booze to be had here and aside from a small chaser of water that I needed after finishing this off, this was outstanding on it's own. Dated 1/25 on the bottom of the can with "CENT' ANNI'" written below it, this was a damned good Pilsner that was so much fun and so much different than the norm. Once again, Source has a winner that was true to form and readily accessible. The fitting label was once again, the icing on the cake!
