Picked this up a few weeks back at Jim Dandy's in Nutley, as they were the only place around here that got this release. I love Source's Milkshake IPA's and this one was in line with the other as it was smooth, sweet, and amazingly full-bodied. Lots going on here but indeed, this felt like a milkshake in the end as it didn't last in my glass for very long!
The pour to this was nice as the hue was a hazy mango with lots of fine sediment floating in it. Plenty of head topped this off as the lacing left behind was layered and deep throughout. Wish the aroma to this was a bit stronger as it was plenty creamy and full of lactose, with some tangy stone and tropical fruit underneath that. The latter really emerged in the taste as there was a ton of peach and mango on top of vanilla, honeydew zest, tangy peach, and strong hops that packed plenty of punch. Wonderfully smooth and inviting, this felt like room temperature sorbet as the oats and wheat made this plenty full and contributed to it's leftover stickiness once I finished this off.
The alcohol was spot-on as the carbonation was light, which allowed the flavors to shine and linger. Dated 1/28 on the bottom of the can with 'ALL THINGS IN BALANCE" written below it, this was a joyous beer that begged to be released again. I didn't have the YING but there's enough in this yang to be at peace with, as the artful label was just the icing on the cake. Props to Source for killing it once again!
