Once again, this was an IPA that was recently released that I was able to obtain via a single can at Joe Canal's in Woodbridge. While this didn't quite measure up to other recent releases that I had from Source, this was a decent beer that was balanced, nicely flavored, and easy to drink - although this wasn't groundbreaking any any aspect.
Cloudy and melon in hue, this had plenty of head to top it off as it was quite fully and evenly settled. Lots of melon, bread, and Jolly Rancher-like hard candy sweetness in the nose as the taste closely followed suit. Loads of peach, stone fruit, marmalade, and blood orange in the taste as this was quite juicy and a bit turbid in the aftertaste. Plenty dank, this was juicy enough to keep the edges soft as the oats and wheat made this chewy and full-bodied, as the taste was slick, but weighted down more than a typical IPA.
This was canned on 2/22 with "TWOSDAY" written below it but surprisingly, there was quite a bit of sediment that had to be swirled out of the bottom of the can as it was quite dark and acrid. For some reason, this didn't quite work in the end as there was too much candied fruit and fruit cocktail in this to be completely enjoyable. Drink this fresh and keep an open mind, as it wasn't on par with Source's' better offerings. Hopefully, this won't brainwash anyone into thinking that this is as good as it gets!
