Once again, this was a nice beer for the season as it was easy to enjoy and on par with Source's other Saint Patrick's Day offering. This could have had a bit more flavor to it but overall, it was what I expected since it had a low alcoholic presence and was true to form from start to finish.
No surprise that this poured red as it was topped off with a thick and tan head that took it's time to settle down. Lots of soapy lacing was left behind as the suds stuck around in thin and layered waves. A nice amount of toasted malt was in the nose as the taste contained some toffee, nuts, and raisin. A soft, roasted undertone tied everything in together although I never felt any coffee or chocolate in this. A moderate amount of biscuit in the body gave this the thickness that made it stand out from it's watered-down contemporaries as there was some nuttiness in the back that lingered after my last sip.
Dated 3/8 on the bottom of the can with "KISS MY BLARNEY" written underneath it, this had a suitable label both for the season and the liquid inside of the can. I couldn't find this on tap anywhere nearby but pouring it as directed on the label was nearly as good as that. Once again, Source hit the mark with this as it was fitting for Saint Patrick's Day, or for anytime where a brew was needed to kick back with. Slainte!
