Picked this up recently at The Bottle King in Wayne with Source’s other drops from the same release. Eagerly anticipated this brew since it was dropped at the same time as the Maple Cinnamon Roll but this was just a little bit less edgy and exciting. Indeed, this was fun to drink and just as nicely crafted as what I've become accustomed to from these guys, but I wish it had a bit more oomph to it in the end!
Of course, this had a dark pour to it with a full, fluffy head of tan that took it's time to settle down. No lacing was left behind as the bubbles from the pour didn't hold their own for the duration. Lots of peanut butter and vanilla in the nose with some gritty, Hershey's candy underneath that. The latter was in the mouthfeel of this under the silky smooth first impression that this gave me, but the peanut butter was just a bit too strong for my preferences. This was still fun, lively, and nicely carbonated as this had the underlying feeling of peanut oil and melted candy.
The alcohol was barely noticeable and the aftertaste was slightly creamy and somewhat cloying. Miss Halloween? Grab a can of this and dig the label as you kick back and wish for autumn during these perfect late spring days. Canned on 4/12 with "CHOC PB EASTER EGGS" written below that, this would be great year-round and still another reason why I find Source's brews to be so much fun and enjoyable!
