Picked this up recently at The Bottle King in Wayne as this was released right before Easter. Loved the other iterations of Visual Cortex that I had and this one was a bit different as it took some getting used to for me to enjoy. Indeed, this was a fruit bomb with plenty of juice, tang, and heft to it but once I settled into it, it didn't last in my pint glass for very long!
Such a lovely pour to this as this was a brassy, deep amber in hue with just a bit of fine haze to it. Lot of suds to top it off as that translated to lots of layered lacing left behind as I worked my way through this. Lots of tropical fruit, yeast, fruit cocktail, and fruit zest in the nose as some gumdrops, fleshy fruit stickiness, and alcohol emerged in the taste. Quite slick and juicy enough, this was a beer that was lip-smacking in nature because of what was left behind both in taste and body.
Indeed, this was overripe in nature and exotic in the back once the guava shone through. The amount of booze was high but on par with everything else that was going on. Dated 4/12 with "FOLLOW THE RABBIT" written below that, there was plenty to savor without having to go down any proverbial rabbit holes. Can't wait for the next iteration of this to be released!
