Picked this up recently at The Bottle King in Wayne, as this was leftover on clearance. Wasn't planning on buying this when it was initially released in February but like many Belgian and beers of this style, this really got complex and shone through once it warmed up. Like so much that I've had from Source, this was true to stylistic form and a good example for people unfamiliar with what a Belgian Pale Ale should be like!
Nice pour to this as the liquid was a clear, nut brown with plenty of full, frothy head topping it off. A few semblances of lacing were left behind in the form of wavy rings along the top half of my glass. Lots of apple, dark bread, yeast, and floral hops in the nose Some spice, European hops, orange rind, and phenol in the taste as this was nuanced and Belgian in nature from start to finish. Slick, balanced, and nicely carbonated, the flavors meshed well together as the fall fruits stuck around the longest in the aftertaste, with a bit of caramel and dough left on my lips and palate once this went down.
The amount of alcohol in this was perfect as I detected a hint of it and couldn't feel any warmth in the aftertaste. Canned on 2/1 with "DUKES OF AAZAARD" written below it, I enjoyed this and it's fitting label that was on par with what I've come to expect from these guys. That was the case with the liquid as well with the end result being something that felt like it could have been imported. So glad to see Source take on this style, in their own way!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
