Can't get down the shore this summer?
Source can help you out with that.
That was the case with me as I hadn't gotten on the boardwalk this season, but was lucky enough to snag this and the Creamsicle version when they were dropped last week. I used to love getting to Point Pleasant or Seaside, and the Milkshake brews from Tired Hands that I traded for in the Other Half line share and this was a perfect marriage between both, as it was plenty soft, plenty sweet, and just hoppy enough to remind me that this wasn't from an ice cream stand!
Golden, hazy, and plenty bright, this had an appealing hue to it that was topped off by plenty of spider-webbed bubbles that settled quickly. Thick lacing reminiscent of cream soda stuck around near the middle of my glass as the rest of it had a sheen that indicated how much milk sugar and vanilla was in this. Tons of vanilla and milk sugar were also in the nose along with bright peach, dank nectarine, and a bit of earthy hops as the vanilla bean emerged in the taste once this fully warmed up. A bit of lush and exotic fruit and a hint of swamp water in the aftertaste combined nicely with the oats and wheat to make this both a liquid dessert and a novelty that was more than just a sugar and dairy-like concoction.
Canned on 8/16 with "ICE ICE BABY" written underneath it, this was such a fun beer that took me back to summer's of my youth and the days where I fell in love with beer. Nice collaboration with Jersey Freeze here as I can't wait to try the other one tomorrow night!
