Picked this up last year at Source, as it took a while for me to get around to this. Love their beers and loved the description of this on their feed, but this didn't quite match up to what I was expecting. Sure, it was juicy, plush, and fun to drink but for some reason, didn't remind me of the west coast offerings that helped get me into beer many moons ago.
Hazy, golden, and containing enough sediment, this was more like a New England IPA than I would have liked. Enough offsetting head topped this although the lacing left behind was sparse as was just some scattered spots that gave the impression of faint rings on my pint glass. Lots of orange blossom, wheat, oats, and tangerine in the nose as the taste was nicely balanced as hints of lime, exotic fruit, strawberry patch, and floral notes emerged on the palate once this warmed up. Plenty sticky, this wasn't golden or waxy but seemed to be a hybrid of left coast hops and east coast style that was easily enjoyable but not like something I'd get in California.
Hard to detect *any* alcohol in this as it would have been easy to crack open another can and enjoy it as much as this. Canned on 1/24 of last year with "PNW HAZY" written underneath it, this was a lovely beer that was fitting for Source and unlike anything that I've had from them before. Easily suitable for year-round enjoyment, I hope they do this again and make it a bit more clear the second time around!
