This was another beer that I picked up at Source late last year and took a while to get around to reviewing on here. While I'm not the biggest fan of cinnamon, it was utilized nicely here as this was perfect for the holidays and for the times I've enjoyed it since - including tonight!
The appearance of this was like dark maple syrup - which this tasted like but thankfully, was much thinner on the palate. A ton of tan head topped it off as it had the biggest bubbles that I've *ever* seen in a beer coming up through it as the foam was quite vigorous. No lacing was left behind as there were a few spotty hints of rings left on my glass. A ton of gingerbread was in the nose as some maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla was underneath that as the taste closely followed suit. Quite crisp and snappy, this straddled the line between fall and winter with it's warmth and spice since there was plenty of body and bite to be had here.
The slickness from the vanilla was evident in the ease of enjoyment as there was plenty of bean in the aftertaste. All of the flavors here complemented the alcohol nicely as I warmed up just a tad while enjoying this. Canned on 12/20 with "TALK TO THE GOOSE" written underneath it, this was fitting for the season but like nearly all of Source's offerings, a beer for all seasons. Once again, this was a worthy collaboration that needs to be released again!
