This was another beer that I picked up at Source late last year, as I never had it before. Source tends to excel at whatever styles they brew and this was no exception as it was tasty, full-bodied, and true to form from start to finish. Although this will never be a popular style, it was just as enjoyable as any hopped-up offering that I've had recently!
No surprise that this had a clear, golden look to it that was topped off with a ton of full, frothy head that took it's time to settle down. There wasn't any lacing to be seen as this was this beer's only drawback. Lots of grain, grass, unfamiliar hops, and herbs in the nose as the taste had some stone fruit, mineral water, and spicy bread that gave it a firm and crisp feel that was not like any beer of this style that I've had before. Noble Hops were underneath everything as this felt as much a Pilsner as anything else, but was still easily enjoyable down to the last sip.
The carbonation was fine and somewhere, there was alcohol to be had here although I never felt it during my time chewing, er - savoring this. Dated 12/20 with "NIMMDEN ZUS" written underneath that, Source has another winner here down to the label reminiscent of a transport map from a German city. This was perfect for a spring day such as this since it held up well over the months!
