Canned 11/21/23. “Splash” stamped on the bottom of the can
I’ll admit, this one was an impulse by out of curiosity. I’ve only had New Jersey style “water ice” once before and I’m intrigued by the idea of making that work as a beer, no less from a brewery with “Farmhouse” in its name. Let’s just dive right in
Pours a dark bluish green with a finger of light neon blue head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
It’s quite tart in the nose, a bit simple but I dig it. I’m picking up on aromas of blue raspberry, lemon juice, bready malt, orange juice, vanilla ice cream, and lime zest
In taste it unfortunately goes a sweeter route but it’s still not bad all things considered. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting blueberry, vanilla ice cream, lemon zest, orange juice, and jammy raspberry. The swallow brings notes of blue raspberry candy, orange juice, vanilla ice cream, doughy malt, lemon juice, and light raspberry
A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes mostly dry with a light yet refreshing tartness
While the taste isn’t quite up to snuff with the rest of it, this is a pretty damn good and fun beer

Canner 11/21/23
L: Deep Caribbean blue body. No real head.
S: Blue raspberry deliciousness.
T: Sweet blue raspberry balanced with lactic tartness. Not complex, but it doesn’t have to be.
F: Light, sweet, and just a bit puckering.
O: Gimmicky, but well done and delicious. Everything I’ve had from Source has been phenomenal. Which I could get it at the source :)
