I love the fact that Source did a zodiac themed series of beers and although I wasn't going to buy all 12 of them, I had to get the one for my sign. Indeed, there was a lot going on here but like most offerings from these guys, everything melded together nicely with the result being a lovely beer that was fairly potent, but easy to drink and kick back with!
Muted, golden, and subtly bright, this had a pleasing look to it although the head wasn't terribly thick. It did complement the liquid nicely although it settled quickly and completely. Very little lacing remained with just a thin and wavy ring lingering near the top of my pint glass with a few scattered spots the rest of the way down. Loads of barley and wheat in the nose along with stone fruit, exotic hops, and bright, saccharine citrus. The taste had plenty of dank Galaxy and Pacific Sunrise hops to go with candied orange and grapefruit lychee, and jack fruit. Lots going on here as the body was very balanced to go along with a light amount of carbonation and soft slickness that lingered on my teeth once the last sip went down.
Canned on 9/5 of last year with "PURITY" written below it, this was a darned good Imperial IPA that was worthy of being in Source's lineup. The hint of lime and deep forest that lingered long after this went down left me wanting more served as a reminder of how lucky I am to have these guys close to me, and brewing consistently wonderful offerings such as this! Seek this out - even if this isn't your sign...
