Picked this up at Source a few months back, to round out an order that I made online. Love this style when it's done right, as most brewers don't give this a go, as this turned out to be a wonderful example of the style that was easy to kick back with - even on yet another rainy spring day!
Plenty gold in appearance, this was bright, topped off with a ton of foam, and left behind more than enough lacing as I worked my way through it. Tons of white grape, biscuit, nectarine, and sweet stone fruit in the nose as the taste closely followed suit. Full in body, lively in carbonation, and just a bit sour, this was exactly what I'd expect a beer of this style to look, feel, and taste like. A bit buttery on the palate, some mineral notes crept in once this fully warmed up. A bit of pear came through at the tail end as this was quite nuanced in flavor, but never overly complicated.
So easy to drink, I could have had a few in a sitting had I had the time and the sun to accompany me. Canned on 1/7 of this year with "PROST" written underneath that, this was every bit as good as anything I'd get from Germany or the Czech Republic, as this was worthy of the Koln skyline on the label. Savor this as one of the best examples of the style, anywhere!
