Didn't get any candy in your Easter basket this year?
You'll be fine reaching for one of these, in lieu.
The description of this had it sounding like something from Reese's and indeed, that was the impression that I got from this beer. Smooth and sweet, this went down nicely as the nitro pour only added to this beer's allure!
Of course, this looked like chocolate as it was just light enough to let in a bit of light. Loads of tan head topped this off as the lacing was deep and spotty, without any visible signs of rings. Loads of peanut butter, milk chocolate, and cocoa in the mellow nose as the taste was a bit more lively. Milk sugar and thick raspberry juice came in upon the first sip as indeed, this felt like a candy bar in a bottle. Not too thick, nor sugary, nor strong, this stuck a nice balance between all of those as the creaminess and carbonation was persistent and kept this from feeling too heavy or artificial.
A bit cloying in the back, this almost called for a chaser of milk to thin things out. Caned on 4/15 with "HAPPY EASTER" written below it, there was a ton to like here as this measured up to what I've come to expect from these guys. Once again, they've brewed a beer that was perfect for the season, as well as a welcome introduction for someone new to the style. Don't forget to smash pour it!
