Yeah, I love Source and yeah, I've bought enough from them in recent years but I've never had a beer from them, or anyone else, quite like this. The addition of cannabis took this to a whole other level as this was easily one of the most flavorful and aromatic brews that I've ever had in all the years that I've been reviewing beers on here.
Golden hazy, and topped off with a near-perfect amount of level foam, this was fine in appearance but needed some lacing behind to be truly memorable. A massive amount of strawberry patch, pie crust, flowers, botanical notes, and pure cannabis was in the nose as the taste had all of these turned up to 11 (apologies to Spinal Tap). Lush, bright, and vivid, this felt like a freshly-baked dessert without any overt sugar, tartness, or hop bitterness with the end result being something that flew right out of my pint glass. Some fruit patch, outdoorsy flowers, and freshly-grown strains stuck around for the duration as this was enough to make me forget about the current heat wave, and make me feel that I was outside in a giant field. Beautifully dank in the back, the skunk and swamp water were at a minimum as this easily left me wanting another hit - er, can...
The booze was understated here as I never warmed up or felt it on my breath, as it took a back seat to all of the wonderful notes that melded beautifully together. Canned on 4/15 with "HAPPY 420" written below it, this might have been the most impressive offering in Source's wonderful lineup. Get this if you want something different that pushes the edge of what a beer can be!
