pours a dark brownish-amber body and an excited and bubbly tan head with no retention that settles to a hair-thin halo
aroma is of funky bourbon toffee and booze soaked fruits (orange, cherry) - aka, sour funky old fashioned
taste falls in with a lighter take of Slow & Low with added funk (good kind); orange, cherry, toffee, funk, and booze. soaked bready malt.
medium-light carbonation and medium-light body. carbo prickles and slight booze heat add weight to the feel, though there is a bit of wateriness to it. finishes with a sweet and sour funk aftertaste
overall:
as per the brewery, this is a blend of 8 different "sour beers" - partially aged in bourbon barrels, partially "fruited"
what results is a muddled and sour funk version of a nice Old Fashioned, or more accurately, the beloved (by some) drink Slow & Low. it is layered nicely, and pretty rewarding overall. this is not a casual sipper by any means but I believe they advertised this properly on the bottle, and was right up my alley, personally.
solid entry from home team. well done
