As the name implies, a whole bunch of flaked oats gives this beer a creamy mouthfeel and hazy appearance. Copious amounts of Amarillo, Mosaic and Eukanot hops complete this juicy bit of news.

Poured from a fresh crowler into a 12 oz. commemorative glass. It pours an, murky tangerine brown with a full finger of foamy, egg white head and thick, soapy lacing that dissipated quickly. The fruity nose features lemon, lime, tangerine, grapefruit, and soft floral hops. The fruit flavors really pop with lemon, pineapple, pithy orange, and grapefruit. The Amarillo, Eukanot and Mosaic hops really shine. There is added sweetness from the oats. The hops provide moderate bitterness and there is a slight astringency at the finish. This ale is medium bodied and well-carbonated. The batch I'm reviewing has a 7.1% ABV - slightly higher than the earlier version. Either way, it drinks easily. Overall, Flake News is a sweet, rather sticky NEIPA. It's a fruit bomb in a good way. It's a great summertime IPA that is worth a pour or two.
