Moderately malty, moderately hoppy, this amber ale has the best of both worlds. Dry hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass. It pours a hazy, orange-brown color similar to iced tea, with a thin, ecru-colored head and lacing. A subdued nose; malty with some lite floral hops. The taste redeems it; rich and malty with lots of caramel and hints of cocoa and lite, bitter lemon and grapefruit. It's a good balance of sweet and tart with a clean hoppy bitterness throughout. There is a hint of spice at the finish. The mouth feel is crisp and lite with fairly lively carbonation. It's very easy to drink at 5.9% ABV. Overall, while the appearance and smell aren't special the taste more than compensates. There is lots of flavor in a modest package. OC Amber is a good summertime alternative to an IPA or Pale Ale. I'll definitely have it again.
