Pint on draught at Josie Kelly's Public House in Somers Point for which this ale is brewed. It pours a hazy orange-brown color with a modest, creamy, ecru cap and lacing. The nose is mild with notes of roasted malt and caramel. The taste follows suit with a strong malt base and caramel/toffee. There are also hints fruity, floral hops. It has a lite, dry mouth feel with pleasant carbonation, and the 5.3% ABV is appropriate for the style. Overall, Josie Kelly's is a good, basic Irish Red Ale that serves its purpose well. You can drink a couple of pours easily and it works well with the Irish cuisine at the Public House. It's also served on draught at the brewery, which is a couple of blocks away.
