Our Belgian Quad is dark, complex, and full of intense malt-forward flavor. Expect bold dark fruit notes of plum, dried cherry, and raisin, layered with subtle caramel sweetness from specialty malts. A strong fermentation character adds depth to the rich, smooth body — making it dangerously drinkable.

On draught at the brewery. Served in a snulip glass. It is nearly clear and an attractive rosy-magenta color with a half finger cap of ecru foam and swirls of lacing. The smell is inviting: Roasted malt, raisin, plum, and apple, with whiffs of clove and coriander. Its taste follows and offers a terrific balance of candied fruit, earthy bitterness, and Belgian spicing. I am tasting apple, raisin, and plum. It is fairly bitter at the finish. This ale is full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation, and the 8.88% ABV gives it excellent substance. Overall, 1-888-Quad is impressive; a very good local example of a style I really enjoy.
