is a pumpkin a fruit? we dont have a veggie kettle sour category, so close enough. i had harland all wrong, i thought it was simple classic styles done well, but this is about as frou frou as it gets, pumpkin spices and marshmallow fluff, dont even know if there is actually pumpkins in this. its really sweet, too sweet for me to want more than a few sips, my wife liked it quite a bit, i think its good in some technical respects, like the sourness is clean and lemony, not overdone, and this is more drinkable than many because the sweet balances the acid. i also like it being this bubbly and frankly light to drink on given its almost imperial abv for the style. that said, there not a whole lot of substance to this, its all added flavor, very little from malt, yeast, or hops. the spices are fine, cinnamon and nutmeg seem evident, a little vanilla and lactose hint to me from the fluff, but it could just be from the fluff, such a weird thing to feel compelled to add to a beer, but we see it kind of commonly now from these new school instagram breweries, whatever. this sits on the teeth a bit but the flavors work oddly well for a sour, i didnt think they would, but they do, and its not over spiced, its just over fluffed, not sure if there is lactose or not, but if so, its unneeded. i wish this were drier because the flavors do work. ill look out for more weird ones from harland as this was better than anticipated...
